An Linnean was built in 2008 as a self-catering retreat at the highest point of our farm, offering a peaceful escape for those looking to unwind in seclusion. It received an immediate 5-star rating from Visit Scotland, a standard we have upheld for the past 16 years, though we are no longer a member of the Visit Scotland program. In 2020, the hot tub was upgraded and now features Bluetooth, allowing you to enjoy your favourite music while relaxing under the stars. Don’t be surprised if the curious sheep or cattle from the nearby field keep a watchful eye on you!

Please note An Linnean has a large garden but it is not enclosed. There is a dog walking area adjacent to the house up to the hill. We have free ranging chickens so please keep dogs under control at all times.
Reception rooms
​
The modern house is designed in the style of a traditional Scottish Longhouse, with an L-shaped layout and only one bedroom located upstairs.
One side of the L houses four bedrooms, while the other contains the reception areas—an open-plan living room, dining room, and kitchen, as well as a small laundry room and the main lobby. The lobby features a double-height ceiling and is surrounded by glass patio doors.
The entire space is heated by underfloor heating, with additional warmth provided by a wood-burning stove in the living room.

The true charm of the reception areas lies in the light and airy ambiance, with glass patio doors on both sides of the dining room. While dining, you can enjoy the breath-taking view of the sunset over the forest on one side, while on the other, the reflection of the sunset dances across the waters of Lochindaal and the Mull of Oa.

A deck runs along both sides of the L-shape, with the hot tub built right into it. It’s always hot and ready for you to enjoy. Complimentary An Linnean robes and slippers are provided for your convenience.

Bedrooms
​
The Super King and King Size bedrooms each feature en-suite bathrooms, while the family bathroom, with a Jacuzzi bath and shower, serves the other two bedrooms.

The master bedroom, elegantly decorated in a beautiful Laura Ashley eau-de-nil green, is complemented by an en-suite bathroom featuring neutral marble tiles, a Jacuzzi bath, a rain showerhead, and dual sinks.
